Overview

A-G Specialty Insurance LLC (formerly A-G Administrators LLC) is a family-owned managing general agency and third-party administrator specializing in participant accident medical insurance for educational institutions and sports organizations. Founded in 1983 by Al Gillis as a one-man operation serving local K-12 school districts in the Philadelphia area, the company has grown over four decades into one of the largest specialty MGAs in the student and youth sports market in the United States.

In May 2024, the company rebranded from A-G Administrators to A-G Specialty Insurance to better reflect its expanded product and service portfolio. Today the company serves 725+ colleges and universities, 3,300+ K-12 school districts, and 3,000+ youth sports organizations across the country. It is led by CEO Dixon Gillis, son of founder Al Gillis, who continues the founding philosophy of "Achieve Greatness."

A-G has pursued an aggressive acquisition strategy in 2024, acquiring Gallagher Bollinger TPA services (September 2024), eSportsInsurance Brokerage (September 2024), and First Agency TPA -- another Gallagher company (November 2024). These acquisitions significantly expanded its footprint in K-12, collegiate, and amateur sports markets. The company was also named Claims Administrator for the NCAA Post-Eligibility Insurance (PEI) program beginning August 2024, a significant milestone reflecting its national standing in the sports insurance space.
