In January 2023, AF Group -- a holding company owned by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan -- completed its acquisition of AmeriTrust Group. In May 2024, AM Best upgraded all AmeriTrust Group members to an "A" (Excellent) rating with a stable outlook, reflecting AmeriTrust's substantially completed integration into AF Group and its increased strategic importance.
