ASOCIACION INSURTECH MEXICO
Promoting technology adoption across the Mexican insurance industry to generate positive cultural and market impact.
Overview
Asociacion InsurTech Mexico (AIM) is an independent membership organization founded on August 29, 2019, with an official launch in February 2020. The organization originated from informal discussions in early 2018 among industry actors who saw the need to group technology-driven insurance companies in Mexico. Founding president Agustin Aramburu convened the first formal meeting in May 2019 at a cafe in the Roma district of Mexico City with approximately 10 initial insurtechs.
AIM promotes the application of technology across the entire insurance value chain in Mexico, fostering healthy development of insurtech companies and facilitating collaboration with regulators, carriers, and ecosystem partners. The organization serves as the primary voice of the Mexican insurtech sector and has been instrumental in forming regional alliances across Latin America.
AIM has expanded its regional footprint significantly. The Alianza Insurtech del Pacifico (AIP) was formed in April 2023 with Chile and Colombia, evolving into the Alianza Insurtech Panamericana in October 2024 when Argentina joined. The organization also launched the AICC (Asociacion InsurTech Centroamerica y el Caribe) as a regional chapter covering Central America and the Caribbean.
