ASPCA Pet Health Insurance
Customizable pet insurance backed by the ASPCAs mission -- helping pet owners afford the care their animals deserve.
Overview
ASPCA Pet Health Insurance is a consumer-facing pet insurance brand operated by PTZ Insurance Agency, Ltd., one of the original pet insurance producers in the United States. PTZ has offered pet insurance since 1997 and launched the ASPCA-branded program in 2006 through an exclusive strategic cause partnership with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The ASPCA licenses its marks and receives royalty fees but is not itself an insurer.
PTZ Insurance Agency is a subsidiary of Independence Pet Group (IPG), one of North Americas largest pet insurance organizations, insuring more than 800,000 pets across the US and Canada through a family of brands including Figo, AKC Pet Insurance, Pets Plus Us, and others. Insurance products issued under the ASPCA brand are underwritten by Independence American Insurance Company (NAIC #26581) and United States Fire Insurance Company (NAIC #21113).
Over more than 20 years of operation, the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance program has insured more than 600,000 pets and processed more than 2.2 million claims. The program is licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, distributing directly to consumers via its website, mobile app, and licensed sales agents.
