AXIS Capital Holdings Limited is a publicly traded global specialty insurer and reinsurer founded in Bermuda in the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, when a consortium of investors deployed capital to provide capacity to a rapidly hardening specialty insurance market. The company operates through two principal segments -- Insurance and Reinsurance -- writing specialty and surplus lines risk across more than 200 lines of business in over 50 countries.

For full year 2025, AXIS reported net premiums earned of USD 5.7 billion and total assets of USD 34.5 billion, reflecting consistent growth from USD 32.7 billion in assets at year-end 2024. Shareholders' equity stood at USD 6.4 billion at end of 2025, and the company's market capitalization was approximately USD 7.5 billion as of April 2026. The company is a component of the Russell 1000 Index.

AXIS differentiates through deep specialty underwriting expertise, a broad global distribution network spanning wholesale and retail brokers and Lloyd's of London, and a capital-light ILS vehicle (AXIS ILS / Monarch Point Re) that accesses third-party capital to expand capacity in property catastrophe reinsurance.
