Bonkers.ie
Ireland's leading price comparison and switching platform for insurance, energy, broadband, and financial products.
Overview
Bonkers.ie is Ireland's leading price comparison and switching platform, founded in 2010 by David Kerr and headquartered at the Nutley Building in Dublin 4. The company is 100% Irish owned and operated with no external funding, having grown organically since inception. It is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as an insurance intermediary and by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) for energy products.
The platform enables Irish consumers to compare and switch providers across insurance (car, home, life, health, travel, mortgage protection, income protection), energy (gas and electricity), broadband and telecoms, and a full range of financial products including mortgages, savings accounts, current accounts, credit cards, and personal loans. Over one million Irish households use the platform annually to reduce their household bills.
Bonkers.ie operates on a commission-based model: the service is free to consumers, and the company earns a commission from providers when a customer switches. This model is fully transparent through a published commission summary. The company also hosts the annual bonkers.ie Awards, a black-tie event recognising the best value providers across banking, energy, communications, and insurance in Ireland.
