CELINA INSURANCE GROUP
Independent agents. Mutual strength. Protecting Ohio and neighboring states since 1914.
Overview
Celina Insurance Group is a regional mutual property and casualty insurance carrier headquartered in Celina, Ohio. Founded in 1914 as The National Mutual Automobile Association, the organization has grown into a family of four mutual insurance companies -- The Celina Mutual Insurance Company, The National Mutual Insurance Company, Miami Mutual Insurance Company, and West Virginia Farmers Mutual Insurance Association -- all owned by their policyholders.
The group distributes exclusively through independent agents, serving approximately 400 independent agencies with around 3,500 users across five states: Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky. In 2022, AM Best upgraded the group's Financial Strength Rating to A (Excellent), reflecting consistent underwriting profitability and annual growth in policyholder surplus.
By year-end 2025, Celina reported written premium of USD 225.2M, total assets of USD 365.4M, and policyholder surplus of USD 174.7M -- continuing a multi-year trend of outperforming the AM Best P&C Industry Composite Group on underwriting profit and surplus growth.
