Overview

Previsico is a flood forecasting SaaS platform for insurers, infrastructure operators, and government agencies. Founded in 2019 as a spinout from Loughborough University, the company commercialises two decades of academic flood modelling research to deliver street-level surface water and river flood forecasts updated hourly with 48-hour outlooks. Its platform enables insurers to issue moratoriums, trigger claims mitigation, and alert clients before flood events occur.

The platform delivers property-level forecasts through a REST API and web interface, integrating with GIS tools, emergency management systems, and IoT sensor networks. Flood Intelligence 2.0, launched globally in early 2026, introduced probabilistic forecasting -- presenting multiple flood scenarios with likelihood and severity assessments -- alongside hourly updates and 24-hour retrospective coverage. The company also offers Instacasting for near-real-time stormwater forecasting during active events.

Previsico serves 200+ customers across insurance, property, utilities, transport, and humanitarian sectors. The company achieved 3,624% three-year revenue growth, ranking 4th overall and 1st in insurtech in the 2025 Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50. Series A funding closed in October 2025 with backing from Connecticut Innovations, BlueOrchard Finance, Burnt Island Ventures, and Foresight Capital. Offices operate in Loughborough, London, Hartford (Connecticut), and Hong Kong.
