Overview

RetireOne is the leading independent platform for fee-based insurance solutions designed specifically for registered investment advisers (RIAs) and fee-only financial advisors. Founded in 2010 by David Stone and Scott Strait, RetireOne operates as an outsourced insurance desk (OID), acting as agent of record at no additional cost to advisors or their clients.

The platform enables non-insurance-licensed fiduciaries to offer low-cost, commission-free annuities and insurance products without requiring separate insurance licensing. RetireOne serves over 1,200 RIAs and fee-based advisors and has grown to service over USD 2 billion in retirement savings and income investments.

In October 2025, RetireOne was acquired by Simplicity Group Holdings and now operates as Simplicity OID, expanding access to its full suite of fee-based insurance solutions for Simplicity's financial institution clients. Founders David Stone, Jeff Cusack, and Ed Mercier joined Simplicity Group as Partners following the acquisition.
