Overview

Zipari is a customer experience (CX) platform for health payers, offering member, provider, broker, and employer-facing portals built around a shared data layer. Founded in 2014 in Brooklyn, New York, the company was created to address gaps in payer digital engagement that surfaced after the Affordable Care Act expanded consumer choice in health insurance.

The platform aggregates data from disparate payer systems -- member records, claims, eligibility, and benefits -- into a unified CX layer. Health plans use Zipari's portals and workflow automation to reduce call center volume, improve digital self-service, and meet regulatory requirements for provider directories and prior authorization. The platform is delivered as a SaaS product and is designed to integrate alongside existing core administration and CRM systems via a pre-built API gateway.

In September 2024, mPulse Mobile acquired Zipari, combining Zipari's payer-specific portals with mPulse's omnichannel member engagement and health analytics capabilities. The combined entity serves over 400 healthcare organizations, including 29 of the 30 largest US health plans, covering more than 50 million members. Prior to acquisition, Zipari had raised USD 44.8M across seven funding rounds from investors including Vertical Venture Partners, Health Velocity Capital, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Horizon Healthcare Services, and Thoma Bravo.
