Overview

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) is the leading membership, education, and professional development organization for the insurance and finance industry in the Asia-Pacific region. Founded in 1884 as the Victorian Insurance Institute, ANZIIF has grown over 140 years into a respected non-profit professional body serving 17,000+ members in more than 50 countries, with offices in Melbourne, Auckland, and Shanghai.

ANZIIF operates as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Provider No. 3596) accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). It delivers nationally recognized qualifications, short courses, compliance training, and continuing professional development programs across general insurance, life insurance, insurance broking, reinsurance, risk management, and loss adjusting. As the sole provider of RG146 (ASIC) compliance training for financial advisers in the insurance sector, ANZIIF plays a critical regulatory role in the Australian market.

The organization's mission is to lead and engage the industry through education and the promotion of professional standards. It does so by setting the Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) credential standard, publishing The Journal (Asia-Pacific's longest-running insurance publication), hosting annual awards ceremonies in Australia and New Zealand, and partnering with carriers, brokers, and insurtech firms to deliver world-class professional development programs.
