Deep Vector
AI-powered document automation turning unstructured insurance data into actionable insights
Overview
Deep Vector (formerly Loss Scan) is an AI-powered document automation platform that extracts and converts data from unstructured insurance documents into structured, actionable data. The company was founded in 2023 by Scott Knowles and Wesley Janse van Rensburg, who previously built and sold Modgic, an insurance analytics company, to Zywave.
The company's flagship product, Loss Scan, processes loss runs, ACORD forms, motor vehicle records, and business records, eliminating manual data entry for underwriting workflows. With support for over 5,600 carrier-specific formats and more than 5 million claims extracted to date, Deep Vector has rapidly gained traction among top insurance brokerages.
Deep Vector raised a $1.5M seed round in January 2025, co-led by Aperture Venture Capital and InsurTech NY, and has expanded its vision beyond insurance with Custom Scan, an industry-agnostic document automation product.
