IBQ pioneered XML real-time rating technology for independent agents, launching real-time comparative rates as early as 2002. In October 2019, the company expanded its reach with a nationally launched commercial lines comparative rater.
On June 30, 2021, Zywave acquired IBQ Systems as its seventh acquisition in two years, citing IBQ's deep carrier integrations and strong personal lines market presence as key strategic assets. IBQ now operates as a Zywave subsidiary, with its rater products integrated into Zywave's broader ecosystem of agent-facing distribution technology alongside TurboRater (acquired by Zywave in November 2020).
