Overview

IDEON (formerly Vericred) is an API infrastructure company enabling real-time data exchange across the health insurance and employee benefits ecosystem. Founded in 2014 by Michael W. Levin and Dan Langevin, IDEON provides a standardized API layer connecting insurance carriers, HR platforms, benefits administrators, brokers, and InsurTech companies. By replacing thousands of point-to-point integrations with a single, reliable API, IDEON dramatically reduces the cost and complexity of connecting benefits data from quote through renewal.

The platform provides access to plan and rate data from 300+ carriers and supports quoting, enrollment, provider network lookup, and market intelligence. IDEONs APIs transmit billions of data points between InsurTechs and insurance carriers, enabling the benefits ecosystem to operate efficiently. As of 2025, IDEON supports 85 small group and ICHRA platforms and 65 care navigation platforms through its infrastructure.

IDEON has raised USD 58.8 million in total funding, backed by investors including Aquiline Capital Partners, Grix Venture Capital, Echo Health Ventures, and FCA Venture Partners.
