Overview

InRule Technology is a decision automation and business rules platform that enables enterprises to design, test, and deploy governed business decisions by combining rules, process automation, and AI. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Chicago, InRule serves regulated industries including insurance, banking, healthcare, and government across more than 40 countries.

The platform empowers business users and IT teams to collaborate on complex decisioning logic without heavy reliance on custom code. By separating business logic from application code, InRule reduces time-to-change and ensures full auditability -- a critical requirement for insurance carriers operating under regulatory scrutiny.

In October 2022, InRule was acquired by Pamlico Capital, a Charlotte-based private equity firm with approximately USD 4 billion in assets under management. Prior to the Pamlico investment, InRule expanded its capabilities through two acquisitions: simMachines (AI/ML, June 2021) and Barium AB (business process automation, Sweden, September 2021).
