Overview
InsurX is a digital insurance exchange platform for commercial insurance brokers and carriers, focused on the London specialty and surplus lines market. The platform facilitates risk placement by connecting brokers with insurers and automating the matching of risk submissions against insurer appetite profiles.
The platform uses smart follow technology to encode insurer underwriting appetites in a structured digital format. When brokers submit risks, the system matches them algorithmically against these appetite profiles and generates quotes automatically -- without manual data entry or human referral for the majority of submissions. InsurX operates as a cloud-based SaaS marketplace and integrates with broker and insurer systems via API.
InsurX has connected over 40 brokers and insurers on the platform. More than USD 100 million in gross written premium has been placed through the consortium since inception. Key broker clients include Gallagher, Howden, and Miller Insurance, while carrier participants include Atrium, Axis, and MS Amlin. The company raised a USD 2.61M seed round in July 2024 and participated in the Lloyd's Lab Accelerator programme.
