Overview
Limit is an AI-enabled digital wholesale insurance brokerage that specializes in cyber liability, technology E&O, and management liability. The platform functions as an insurance one-stop-shop where retail brokerages can shop up to 100 insurance markets in one place, online, 24 hours a day. Retailers can submit applications and receive multiple bindable quotes in seconds, then rate, quote, bind, and issue policies entirely online.
Originally founded in 2020 as Apollo Brokers, the company rebranded to Limit in 2022 after acquiring the Limit.com domain. Limit raised $14.5 million in combined Seed and Series A funding led by IA Capital Group, with participation from American Family Ventures, Indicator Fund, and Material V.
In September 2025, The McGowan Companies acquired Limit via an asset purchase agreement. Limit continues to operate under its own brand within the McGowan Companies umbrella, led by Shea McNamara as facility director. The acquisition combines McGowan's depth in specialty insurance with Limit's AI-enabled digital platform.
