Overview

Xempus AG is a SaaS platform for the digital distribution and administration of occupational pensions (Betriebliche Altersversorgung, or bAV), group health insurance, and supplementary benefits in Germany. The platform connects life insurers, insurance brokers, sales organizations, and employers on a single neutral system, enabling end-to-end digital advisory, enrollment, and ongoing policy management. Originally founded in 2007 in Munich under the name xbAV, the company now operates from three German offices -- Munich, Berlin, and Saarbrucken -- and has expanded internationally through acquisitions.

The platform is built around three product lines: a standardized advisory and distribution tool for brokers and sales organizations (XEMPUS advisor), an employer-facing administration and compliance tool (XEMPUS manager), and an employee self-service portal with automated data provisioning (XEMPUS customer connect). The system uses a modular REST architecture with standardized interfaces connecting 45 life insurers, supporting automated data exchange for tariffs, contributions and benefits calculation, contracts, and documents. The platform holds ISO 27001 certification and is GDPR compliant.

Xempus serves more than 250,000 corporates, 55,000 insurance agents, and 200+ sales organizations. Insurers on the platform include Allianz, AXA, Zurich, Generali, HDI, and ERGO. The company has raised a total of USD 125M+ across four institutional rounds, with notable investors including Goldman Sachs Asset Management, HPE Growth, and InfraVia Capital Partners. In May 2023, Xempus acquired Munich-based eVorsorge to extend its presence in the occupational pensions market.
