Overview

Amerisure is a commercial property and casualty insurance carrier with over 110 years of history serving U.S.-based businesses. Founded on September 12, 1912, as Michigan Workmen Compensation Mutual Insurance Company -- just 11 days after Michigan Workers Compensation Law took effect -- the company has grown into a national insurer licensed in all 50 states. Amerisure rebranded to its current name in 1984 and converted to a mutual holding company in 2009.

Amerisure focuses on three core segments: construction, manufacturing, and healthcare, also serving wholesale and distribution businesses. The company distributes exclusively through an elite network of independent agencies via its Partners For Success (PFS) program, established in 1997.

The company holds an A (Excellent) AM Best rating, reaffirmed March 31, 2026, based on a successful 2025. Amerisure has been consistently recognized as one of the best places to work in insurance, with industry-leading Net Promoter Scores and customer satisfaction rankings.
