Overview

Avokadio is a Turkish health technology startup that uses patented breath analysis technology to prevent and manage diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases. The company's portable nano-sensor device measures volatile organic compounds (VOCs) -- including ketones, ammonia, nitrogen oxide, ethanol, and methane/hydrogen -- in exhaled breath to track fat-burning metabolism in real time. This biometric data is combined with reinforcement-learning algorithms to generate personalized, continuously adapting meal plans delivered through a mobile app.

The platform targets individuals with or at risk of diabetes, as well as health insurers and care providers seeking to reduce costs associated with chronic disease management. By enabling proactive preventive intervention rather than reactive treatment, Avokadio positions itself as a cost-reduction tool in the health insurance value chain. The company launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in February 2023 and completed two clinical trials with support from Bahcesehir University.

Avokadio has participated in several major Turkish startup programs including Sabanci ARF, KWORKS (Koc University), and ITU Cekirdek, and won the ITU Big Bang Startup Challenge. The company has also established a US sales and business development presence and has received interest from Japanese partners.
