Overview
Handdii is a digital repair network solution designed to ease the frustrations surrounding small property insurance claims. Co-founded in 2017 by CEO Christie Downs and COO Kathryn Wood, who collectively have over 20 years of experience in property insurance claims, the company saw an opportunity to disrupt the often lengthy and cumbersome process of property claim payouts.
The platform digitally enables insurance companies to pair customers with contractors within minutes, setting up appointments at the customer's preferred time. Customers receive an on-demand digital experience that simplifies the claims journey and keeps them informed every step of the way. Handdii's managed repair solution bridges the gap between insurers and contractors, reducing cycle times and improving customer satisfaction.
The company has grown to approximately 24 employees across 4 continents, including North America, Oceania, and Asia. Handdii is supported by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation and Science through an Entrepreneurs' Programme commercialisation grant and is an alumnus of the Hartford InsurTech Hub 2019 cohort.
