Overview

Safe-Guard Products International is the leading provider of branded vehicle protection products for the automotive, RV, marine, and motorcycle/powersports industries. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Safe-Guard has evolved from a traditional third-party administrator into a comprehensive Protection Products Platform that administers coverage programs on behalf of OEM manufacturers, dealer groups, and financial institutions. The company protects more than 40 million customers across North America and serves hundreds of the world's top OEM brands and thousands of dealerships.

Safe-Guard's platform delivers 11+ vehicle protection products across multiple vehicle categories, including vehicle service contracts, GAP insurance, tire-and-wheel protection, and dedicated Electric Vehicle (EV) coverage launched in 2021. The company operates across the U.S. and Canada, with the Canadian market served since 2001 and now protecting 260,000+ Canadian customers.

In July 2024, Safe-Guard received a majority investment from Hellman and Friedman, one of the world's largest private equity firms, with existing investor Stone Point Capital continuing as a partner. The company is led by President and CEO David Pryor, with Randy Barkowitz serving as Executive Chairman.
