Overview

World Explorer™ by Insured Nomads is the flagship travel insurance product line of Insured Nomads, an insurtech company founded in fall 2019 by Andrew Jernigan (CEO), Allen Koski (President and Chief Innovation Officer), and Juliana Jernigan (Chief Medical Officer). Launched in December 2019, the World Explorer suite provides travel medical insurance and comprehensive trip protection for modern travelers, digital nomads, remote workers, and globally mobile professionals.

Insured Nomads combines traditional insurance coverage with embedded tech-enabled services including emergency response, security evacuation, telemedicine, and travel intelligence. The company operates regulated entities in the United States (Birmingham, Alabama), Ireland (Dublin), and Europe, serving customers globally except in OFAC-restricted countries. Insured Nomads positions itself as "The evolution of insurance for the revolution of work and travel."

The company uses the CoverGo no-code insurance platform (adopted 2021) to enable rapid product development and policy/claims management. Insured Nomads operates as a mandated underwriter for Allianz Partners and distributes through travel agencies, online travel agencies (OTAs), co-working spaces, relocation services, and employer channels. The World Explorer product line was launched on Product Hunt in September 2024.
